Are you in need of a sunny beachside escape away from your hectic life? Well, look no further. How about a trip to Cabo San Lucas? We think Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos is one of the best beach resorts in the area. Here’s why:

What are your thoughts on a quiet and romantic retreat for you and your significant other? Perhaps you are looking for a room large enough for your family close to the pool or ocean. Or are you interested in something even roomier, like a suite with two, three, or four bedrooms?

We stayed in a Hacienda Garden Room King with a private balcony and a filtered view of the ocean. It felt more like it was part of a condo than a hotel room, which was nice. Standard hotel rooms often feel, well, standard. But this room felt a bit like a villa.
Actually, that’s not far off. The property consists of separate villa-style buildings in various desert colors. Each of these surrounds the main building where the front desk and other amenities reside. And the resort resides within lovely meandering courtyards, archways, fountains, gardens, and pools, whichever way you look.

Take a swim in one of the resort’s pools. There are some for kids, an infinity pool, an activity pool, and a swim-up bar. You’ll have no shortages for where to take a dip.
Sometimes, you want a quiet place to chill. We found it most enjoyable to bathe in the sun near one of the non-kid pools or on the sunny beach under the resort’s many beach umbrellas on our trip to Cabo at this resort.

Another relaxing activity, take a stroll along the warm, sandy beach or among the meandering garden paths between the colorfully painted villas. We enjoyed both immensely.
If you prefer “doing” rather than simply being, this hotel in Cabo San Lucas has all kinds of activities. From yoga, volleyball, bingo, fitness, and beyond, you’re sure to find something you’ll like.
Outside of the resort, there are countless things to do. If you enjoy fishing, sailing, whale watching, snorkeling, diving, or swimming with dolphins, such services sail out of Marina Cabo San Lucas, about 20 minutes from the resort.
There are plenty of non-water activities to do as well. Rock climbing and hiking, desert off-roading, and zip-lining are all available within driving distance from the resort.
There’s a spectacular course that surrounds Hacienda del Mar and others all around the area for those that like to golf. Also, there’s a bounty of shopping and nightlife available in town as well.
We had a great couple of days fishing and sailing, during which we happened to see some whales. Also, we went shopping and ate at a few Marina-side restaurants.
Finally, there are places outside any resort where you’ll run into aggressive vendors. Either ignore them or haggle for what you want.
How About a Spa Day?

In addition to filling our minds with knowledge and cultural experiences through travel, we think recharging our bodies in relaxation is equally beneficial. Therefore it should be no surprise we took the opportunity on our trip to Cabo to restore away.
If you’ve read any of our other travel reviews, you’ll know we love a good spa. And the Hacienda del Mar’s Cactus Spa is a marvelous one indeed!
The only regret was our fault. We booked our massages too close to a dinner obligation. And we did not have enough time to enjoy the relaxation we normally do at spas thoroughly.
Don’t be like us. Make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the Cactus Spa.

We love it when we’re staying within walking distance of multiple restaurants that serve delicious food and tasty drinks. Both are in excellent supply at this resort. What’s even better is when you have all of the above that also provide ample amounts of outdoor dining.
We had lovely breakfasts with Bloody Marys on the veranda of Tomatoes Restaurant. From there, you can enjoy the surf sounds from the Sea of Cortez. It lulled us even further into relaxation.
Furthermore, we enjoyed yummy bites at Tortugas Snack & Beach Bar. We drank cocktails under the giant thatched roof of Las Sirenas next to the infinity pool. And had scrumptious shrimp quesadillas with margaritas at Delfines Swim-Up Bar.

But our favorite restaurant was our fine dining experience at De Cortez Grill & Restaurant. Not only was the food excellent, but the sunset on the terrace was like being in a pastel painting of pinks, oranges, and blues. What a lovely place!
Besides the restaurant dining options, we also took advantage of meals via room service on our room’s balcony. And we enjoyed it immensely!
We highly recommend staying at Hacienda del Mar on your next trip to Cabo San Lucas. Moreover, here is a quick list of our pros and cons on this resort.
