4.5 Out of 5 Stars
Every year in January, we travel to meet ten or fifteen friends from all over the country in Las Vegas. The trip is to celebrate several birthdays around the middle of the month and toast to our long friendships while enjoying a few relaxing days away from our real lives. For the last several years, we have all stayed at The Venetian Resort. And though some in the group have suggested we stay elsewhere on our next visit—to experience a different area of the city—there are several reasons we keep going back to The Venetian.
We give this hotel 4.5 out of 5 stars, which is fantastic! It doesn’t get five because one essential thing is missing in the rooms. To see what a fabulous resort we think this is, please read on.

Though the hotel is on the northern end of the strip, it is still centrally located enough to easily walk, jump on the Monorail, or take an Uber or cab to anywhere you want to go.
Walking is excellent exercise, and it’s always fun to explore on foot. However, if you’re on a mission to get somewhere fast, an Uber or a taxi might be your best bet.
The Monorail is by far the cheapest. You can buy a two-day pass for the cost of one taxi ride. Furthermore, it runs along the backside of the strip, with several stops along the way.

The Venetian Resort and The Palazzo are part of the same complex, run by the same company. Both hotels offer all-suite rooms, which are very similar in layout and decor.
The Luxury King and Queen Suites are their standard hotel rooms. However, each suite is about twice the average hotel room size. There is a roomy closet, plenty of drawer space, a large bathroom, a shower, tub, and a separate toilet room. And the beds are always impeccably made and incredibly comfortable.
Our favorite thing about the room is the window area. We love to pull the chairs and table closer to the floor-to-ceiling window to sit and drink coffee in the morning with a pastry while watching the view below. Night viewing with a cocktail before venturing out into the city is a sight too. If you have a west-facing room, you can view a succession of helicopters fly by at sunset, taking tourists on evening flights. There’s always something fun to observe out there.
The only downside to the room is no coffee maker is available. There is coffee to purchase just outside the guestroom elevators and, of course, room service, but both can get rather expensive after several days.

Larger, higher-end suites are available as well if you want more space or other options. We have not seen these suites in person, but photographs on the Resort’s suite description page are impressive.

Thank goodness this is somewhat typical for most modern casino hotels. There are few things we dislike more than cigarette smoke.
Luckily, even when there are smokers in the casino area, the air filtration systems are powerful enough to prevent the odor from becoming too much of a nuisance.
There aren’t enough words for us to share how much we love The Venetian Resort’s Canyon Ranch Spa + Fitness. We only wish it were closer to us so we could go there now!
With a Four Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide, Canyon Ranch is one of the world’s largest day spas. It offers more than 150 treatment services, a vast fitness facility, several pools to enjoy, salon services, as well as indoor and outdoor dining and bar services. It is truly a spectacular place!
The last time we were there, we devoted just over a half-day to experience all we could, and it still wasn’t enough time to enjoy all there is to offer.
If you enjoy spas as we do, we recommend setting aside at least a day for this remarkable one. You won’t regret it!
